Track operators Paul Stovall and his wife Jessica have carried on the tradition of the Bailey family, who built the facility in 2004. It has a 430-feet concrete burnout pad which transitions to asphalt and a schedule full of great events.
Of course, it includes the IHRA Summit SuperSeries, which features the most prestigious program in bracket racing. In 2018, Dale Scates won the track championship at Pine Valley and went on to capture the IHRA Summit SuperSeries Top (Box) World Championship.
Scates again represented Pine Valley at the 2021 IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals, while track qualifiers were: Billy Talbot in Mod (Box), Robert Ewell in Sportsman and Wade Walker in Junior Dragster.
Pine Valley Raceway hosted the IHRA Division 4 (Renegades) Summit Team Finals in 2019 and 2020. They remain key competitors in the IHRA Summit Team Finals, competing in last weekend’s Division 4 event at Xtreme Raceway Park.
The Stovalls, who had more of a background in grudge racing, quickly grew to appreciate bracket racing. The racers appreciate their hard work with a new timing system, scoreboard and lights.
They continue to host a number of fan-favorite events including the upcoming “Draggin’ and Pullin’ in the Pines” on October 21. It features a Big Rig truck show, drag racing, tractor pulls and many more activities.
