Built in 1969, the Sikeston, Missouri facility features an 1/8-mile drag strip with an all-concrete surface and 1,300 feet of shutdown area. IHRA President and CEO Larry Jeffers purchased the historic venue in 2015 and has consistently offered an exciting schedule of events.
The 2022 schedule featured outlaw races, big tire and small tire races, grudge races, junior dragster events and the popular Street Car Madness.
Jeffers is pleased to now offer the IHRA Summit SuperSeries program, the most prestigious championship in all of grassroots, Sportsman racing to the track’s weekly bracket racers.
“What an exciting time for our weekly racers! They now have a chance to pursue IHRA World Championships through the IHRA Summit SuperSeries,” Jeffers said. “It’s also a chance for them to enjoy fellowship with each other and racers from other facilities through the IHRA Summit Team Finals. We believe they will really enjoy these new opportunities.”
The 32-acre facility features camping areas, a paved pit area, showers and air-conditioned bathrooms. In addition, there is a nice control tower, concession stand with great food options and even a saloon with a bar and pool table. The facility is also located within two miles of plenty of hotels and other accommodations.
In addition, Lambert’s Café, a homestyle restaurant famous for their “throwed rolls” and ranked the No. 1 place to pig out on the Travel Channel, is 10 miles away from the track. Jeffers has worked hard to make his track near the Illinois and Kentucky borders, a true destination.
“It’s important for our racers to truly enjoy their experience at the race track and in the community,” Jeffers said. “We appreciate all their support throughout the season. While we love to see the great competition at our track, it’s also about having a fun time and creating great memories.”
