Promoted as Arkansas drag racing at its best, the 1/8-mile drag strip was first opened in 1977. The track was resurfaced in 2016 and became a member of the IHRA family of tracks in 2021. Since then, they’ve provided terrific weekly racing through the IHRA Summit SuperSeries and even hosted an IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Hagerty and Moser Engineering in May 2022.

It was the first appearance for the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular in Arkansas with the track located 11 miles south of Russellville off Interstate 40. It’s 75 minutes from the state capital in Little Rock and an hour and half from the Oklahoma border.

In fact, Oklahoma racers had a huge impact with Jaklene Brooks taking the No Box victory and her son, Eli, winning Junior Dragster at the Sunday main event.

One of Centerville’s top racers, Wayne Trammell, won the Box title, with a .010 reaction time to beat another Yellville, Arkansas driver Keith Hall in the final round.

The racing at Centerville is competitive throughout the season with Danny Rader (Box), Ray Keifer (No Box), Rachael Haynes (Sportsman) and the appropriately named Race Rogers (Junior Dragster) drivers who qualified for the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals in Holly Springs, Mississippi.

This new agreement allows Centerville racers to again pursue the IHRA world titles through both the track championships and the IHRA Division 2 (Heatwave) Summit Team Finals. Haynes made the Sportsman final round at the 2022 Division 2 finals.

The schedule of events also includes: Outlaw races, Small Tire Nitrous races, motorcycles and ATVs on the Arkansas track.
