Little River Dragway Continues as IHRA Track With Multi-Year Agreement

Wednesday, 25 October 2023

HOLLAND, Texas — It was announced today that Little River Dragway and the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) have renewed their strong partnership through a multi-year sanctioning agreement.

The 1/8-mile Texas track, located near the Army base of Fort Cavazos (formerly Fort Hood), has served as host for the IHRA Division 4 Junior Team Finals in recent years and has a long history with the IHRA. Started in 1957, Little River Dragway was named IHRA Division 4 (Renegades) Track of the Year in both 2013 and 2021.

Recently, upgrades were made with new pavement put down at the facility in September.

Little River Dragway features great competition with Ty Janousek representing the track at the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals where he raced to a runner-up finish. Michael Turman, another Little River racer, was the Motorcycle champion at the IHRA Division 4 Summit Team Finals.

Turman qualified for the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals in two classes, No Box and Motorcycle. Other IHRA Summit SuperSeries track champions were: Paul Campise (Box), Michael Shirley (Sportsman) and Janousek.

Besides the great bracket racing including this Saturday’s Super Shootout River Run, the track hosts other terrific events. They include the Vintage Drags, Texas Southeast Gassers, Texas Hot Rod Tour, Harley Drags and a huge semi show and race coming up Nov. 11. That event includes racing, a huge assortment of 18-wheelers and a vendor row.
