Arlen and Carol Wiens have built Motivational Tubing from the ground up making it a true family business.

Arlen built their first Junior Dragster in 1993 for Tim, who was 15 at the time, and just like that they were racing. They built one, then another, and then another, soon growing into a full time business and, over time, the whole family got involved. Company welder Hector has also become part of the family over time. Motivational Tubing first built Junior Dragsters out of the 2,400 sq ft shop at home, and then moved into a 5,000 sq ft building at the Newton, Kansas airport. In 2003 the company expanded into the 12,000 sq ft building that it currently operates out of.

In 2002 Motivational Tubing had the privilege of participating in the filming of the movie “Right on Track” – a movie telling the story of Erica and Courtney Enders. Arlen and Tim went to Salt Lake City to provide and help to manage many of the Junior Dragsters in the movie and offer technical support.  Many kids have been inspired to try Junior Dragster Racing as a result of that movie!

In 2003, Motivational Tubing created its web site, www.motivationaltubing.com, with plenty of information and parts for the public. They were the first Junior supplier to offer parts for sale online. You can also find their latest news, and share your pictures and race results the Motivational Tubing Facebook page at www.facebook.com/motivationaltubing.

"At Motivational Tubing we pride ourselves in building a quality product that both functions well and looks good! Arlen and Monte hear from you, the customer, what you need and want in a product, and we all work together to make that happen. Arlen and Tim spend hours designing new products and improving on existing designs to create a product line that stands out for its quality and functionality. Then Monte gets it shipped out the door to you, with great customer service along the way. We do things the right way – without cutting corners.  From the precision fixtures in the weld shop that locate every tube, tab and bracket, to the in-house CNC shop – the difference in our products is in the details! Our attention to those details in the Junior Dragsters and products that we manufacture makes us unique!

"You may have just seen us at the races, bought a few parts here and there, or purchased multiple Jr. Dragsters from us over the years. Our family has enjoyed getting to know your families over the 20 years that we have been building Junior Dragsters and now Junior Comp Dragsters! We want to say thank you, to all of you, the Junior Dragster racers and families that are the reason that we get to do what we do!"
