In addition to the Junior Dragster, races are scheduled for the Box, No Box, Street Car and Teen Championship for high school drivers on Saturday.

Sunday features the IHRA Ironman Classic with racers contending for the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies in Top (Box), Mod (No Box), Sportsman, Pro Bike and the Junior Dragster classes. 

Thunder Valley Dragways has seen a massive amount of work in recent months from new asphalt on the track to making the pits more racer-friendly. They’ve had gallons of paint applied and sensor blocks installed. The facility is certainly ready to host this and other big events.

The IHRA Ironman Classic program is offered to all IHRA member tracks. Prior to this program, a Sportsman racer could only win an Ironman if they traveled to an IHRA Summit Team Finals, Sportsman Spectacular or World Finals. This program gives local tracks a chance to create extra excitement in their bracket program and offer competitors a chance to win the prestigious Ironman.
