With a less than favorable forecast calling for rain, the IHRA and track management at Carolina Dragway have rescheduled the event to August 16-18 and will be run in conjunction with Thunder Jam and the track’s Ironman Classic competition originally scheduled for that date. The format and class structure for the weekend will be the same as the original date.
The rescheduled Carolina Pro-Am will also be broadcast live on Motor Mania TV making it only the second-ever IHRA Summit Pro-Am event to be produced for live viewing.
“We always strive to do what is in the best interest of our competitors and in this instance this is the best move,” said Frank Kohutek, IHRA Division Director. “In fact the new date will add even more excitement to the event as racers will have an opportunity to compete in front of a great crowd during the Thunder Jam event on Saturday. Thunder Jam will add another element to an exciting weekend capped off with Carolina Dragway’s Ironman Classic event. It should make for a great weekend of racing.”
