“All of these bonuses were made possible by our good friends at ATI. Based in Baltimore, the folks at ATI really wanted to get involved with one of our biggest and most exciting Pro-Am events and in the end it was a perfect fit to partner with them at MIR,” said Jon O’Neal, IHRA Division Director. “The bonuses presented by ATI will make this a truly unique event and one we hope will draw a few extra racers to compete regardless of racing affiliation. It is always exciting when we bring an IHRA event to MIR and with ATI’s involvement it should only add to that excitement.
“Royce Miller does such an outstanding job and racers across the country recognize that commitment. This year’s Summit Pro-Am at Maryland hopefully will be one of our best yet.”
The Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL event at Maryland International Raceway will feature two full days of racing. There will be a test and tune on Friday followed by qualifying and eliminations Saturday and Sunday with Pro-Am points on the line in both races.
In addition to the usual purse, ATI will be presenting a special qualifying bonus for Super Stock and Stock racers of $100 for drivers that qualify number one during the Saturday race. Non-IHRA racers and those who haven’t raced an IHRA event in a while are all welcome as ATI presents a special one-race membership and chassis certification available only at the Maryland Pro-Am for only $20 each. The membership and certifications are good only for the Maryland race and can be used to compete in any of IHRA’s Pro-Am classes.
Finally Maryland International Raceway will host its MIR Speed United ET series on Saturday with competition in Box, No Box, Junior Dragster and Bikes with an Ironman on the line in all classes courtesy of ATI. Class racers are welcome in the ET race contingent they fit the MIR points rules.
