Event Preview: Renegades wrap up season July 12-14 at Dallas Raceway

The 2013 IHRA Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL season continues July 12-14 at Dallas Raceway in Texas for an IHRA Division 4 doubleheader at the famed ‘Concrete Palace’. The 1/4 mile track will host a test and tune on Friday followed two days of qualifying and racing on Saturday and Sunday. It is the final Division 4 race of the season meaning points are at a premium.

Pro-Am

WHAT TO EXPECT: The fourth and final race of the four Division 4 double events will be held at Dallas Raceway the weekend of July 12-14. On Friday gates will open from Noon-9 p.m. for parking and tech will be open from 2-8 p.m. There will be a test and tune on Friday from 3-8 p.m. for $35 for those interested.

On Saturday gates will open at 8 a.m. and close following the second time trial. The first of two time trials/qualifying session will begin at 9 a.m. followed by eliminations. On Sunday gates will open at 8 a.m. followed by God Speed Chapel service at 8:15 a.m. and one time trial/qualifying session at 9 a.m. followed by the second Pro-Am of the weekend.

The run order for the Dallas event will be Hot Rod, Stock, Quick Rod, Top Sportsman, Super Rod, Top Dragster, Super Stock, Junior Beginner, Junior Advanced and Junior Masters. Sunoco Fuel is sold at the track and the radio station is 89.9.

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING: “Dallas Raceway is a popular track amongst the racers and we are very happy to have them back on the schedule,” said Frank Kohutek, IHRA Division Director. “This is always a big weekend and with it being the season finale for Division 4 it should produce some great racing as the drivers jockey for position and try to earn their way to the Tournament of Champions in October.”

ROAD TO THE TOC: In 2013 the Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL is now the only road to the year-end Summit Racing Tournament of Champions showdown in Memphis. Only the top three in each class within each division on the Summit Pro-Am Tour will advance to the championship tournament in October to runoff for the 2013 Summit World Championships and $10,000!
