Kevin Mendenhall cruised to the Mod (No Box) title when final-round opponent Bradley Tippett red-lighted at the start. Mendenhall, a Parkersburg, Pa., driver, finished with a .067 reaction time and then eased to the win in his 1966 Chevy Nova. The foul erased a solid effort for Tippett, a hometown driver from Mechanicsville, who finished at 6.609 seconds and 100.74 mph against a 6.60 dial-in.
Nathan Mendenhall raced to the Junior Dragster final, but finished runner-up to Kaiden Groves, another Mechanicsville driver. Gage Willingham from Mechanicsville received special recognition and a medal for going the furthest in eliminations of the younger Junior Dragster Beginner class.
