It’s part of a three-day event which includes a Gamblers’ race on Friday, July 14 and IHRA Summit SuperSeries points racing both Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16.
The IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering and FuelTech is tailored to each track’s programs. There are $2,000-to-win races with a 50-car minimum for the Top ET (Box) and Footbrake (Mod) classes on Saturday and Sunday. Double entries are allowed. The Sportsman and Junior Dragster classes will also be contested.
Gates open at 2 p.m. with time runs at 5 p.m. and eliminations at 7 p.m. Saturday sees gates open at 8 a.m. with time runs at 11 a.m. and eliminations to follow. Gates open at 9 a.m. Sunday with time runs at 12:30 p.m. and eliminations to follow.
Spectator admission is $15 each day and kids 10-under are admitted free.
Motor Mile Dragway is also hosting the IHRA Division 1 (Patriots) Summit Team Finals on Sept. 21-23 so it’s important that all bracket racers have their IHRA membership up to date by July 1 to compete in the team finals.
Here are important facts regarding the event:
• Event winners, who are IHRA members, now earn entry into the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals in conjunction with entering at least two other IHRA races (IHRA-member track Summit SuperSeries team race or other IHRA Sportsman Spectacular races). Current IHRA membership is required.
