TNT Supercars to build 2014 Summit SuperSeries Top ET prize dragster

Friday, 25 April 2014

When it comes to bracket racing, there is no bigger program in the sport than the IHRA’s Summit Racing Equipment SuperSeries presented by AMSOIL. And when it comes to the Summit SuperSeries, there is no bigger prize than the now infamous turn-key dragster awarded to the winner of the Top ET class at the Summit Racing Equipment World Finals at Memphis International Raceway.

And after a careful selection process, the IHRA is excited to announce that in 2014 that dragster will be built by the talented builders at TNT Supercars located in Forney, Texas. TNT Supercars will be providing a state-of-the-art design powered by a 572 big block Chevrolet engine built by Trick Flow Specialties and painted by Imagine That Customs.

The build of this one-of-a-kind dragster will be headed by accomplished builder Dillon Bontrager and his team at TNT Supercars and will make its grand unveiling at the world championships in Memphis in October.

“We here at TNT Supercars are very excited to team with IHRA and Summit Racing Equipment to build this year’s giveaway car,” Bontrager said. “IHRA and Summit have put together an unprecedented program for the sportsman racer with a prize package like none other. We look forward to building a car that the winner will be proud to win and race for years to come.”

TNT Supercars was founded in 2005 under the care of renowned sportsman racer Tommy Phillips. Phillips and his team operated under the creed of producing professionally engineered, 4-link style dragsters that are user friendly and second to none in performance and appearance.

Recently, TNT Supercars was purchased by Bontrager and Art Zunker with the goal of re-establishing the TNT brand as one of the premier suppliers of racecars and components in the drag racing business. TNT is also proud to welcome the acquisition of Joe Monden Racecars to ensure that the quality and design of the TNT cars continues to be second to none.

In addition, TNT Supercars recently moved into a brand new, 5,000 square foot facility in Forney, Texas where the final assembly of the cars will take place, along with stocking and sales of hundreds of high performance automotive parts. Joe Monden Racecars will also be relocating to the Forney facility with 6,000 square feet of shop space dedicated to fabrication and production of the cars.

With the new space and acquisitions, the team will continue to focus its efforts in staying ahead of the growing demands of sportsman racers and producing top-of-the-line cars for racers of all levels.

TNT Supercars was selected from a number of bids for its quality of work and dedication to the sportsman racing community.

This season the winner of the Top ET category at the Summit Racing Equipment SuperSeries presented by AMSOIL will take possession of the brand new car built by TNT Supercars. Major components are being provided by Trick Flow Specialties, Imagine That Customs and a number of the sport’s top manufacturers.
