This is a custom-built, top-of-the-line construction from champion racer and car builder “Johnny Bracket Racer” Ezell out of his Louisiana shops. Ezell, a second-generation builder, has won some of the biggest stages in big-money bracket racing.
It’s part of an incredible prize package that includes the oversized $20,000 check from Summit Racing Equipment, an IHRA Gold Card, World Champion Diamond Rings worth more than $4,000 and the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies.
As for Ezell, it’s been a great partnership with the IHRA so far. He has seen business pick up since the announcement he will be furnishing the car at the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals on October 5-7 at Holly Springs Motorsports.
To be chosen as the one with the special project, it’s something he doesn’t take for granted.
“It’s definitely an honor to be the one giving the car away,” Ezell said. “I’ve been very fortunate in racing. I’ve been close to winning a car a few times and that’s always been a bucket list thing for me. I know it will be a big goal for anyone and it will be cool to be the one presenting that to them.”
The champion isn’t the only winner at the World Finals. All racers who participate in the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals receive $300 in tow money and have the opportunity to win more money by each round they advance. Overall, there are more than $275,000 in payouts and prizes.
An IHRA-member racer can qualify for the World Finals by either winning a Summit SuperSeries championship at a participating track or by winning an IHRA Summit Team Finals main event class and meeting the eligibility requirements.
New in 2023, race winners of IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering and Fuel Tech also have the chance to qualify for the World Finals. Don’t miss out with Sportsman Spectacular races this weekend at London Dragway in Kentucky and Xtreme Raceway Park in Texas.
