Starting in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Elk Creek Dragway has a Division 1 (Patriots) race scheduled for Saturday. Holly Springs Motorsports Park, the Mississippi track which hosts this year’s IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals, has a day of Division 2 (Heat Wave) racing also on Saturday. Other Division 2 tracks — Beacon Dragway in Kentucky and Music City Raceway in Middle Tennessee — are in action, while Newport Raceway in Arkansas has points racing on Sunday. 

Three Ohio tracks — KD Motorsports Park, Kuhnle Motorsports Park and Quaker City Motorsports Park — host Division 3 (North Stars) points races. Also on the Saturday docket are races at Kentucky Dragway and Muncie (Ind.) Dragway. 

Near the home of the legendary Unser family, Albuquerque Dragway brings Division 4 (Renegades) racing to New Mexico on Saturday. There are also Division 4 races at Texas tracks — Little River Dragway and Paris Dragstrip — on Saturday. Edinburg Motorsports Park has racing scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday.

Heading back to Indiana, there is Division 5 (Thunder) points racing at Bunker Hill Dragstrip on Saturday. Division 6 (Midwest) tracks bring action to both the U.S. and north of the border. Humboldt Dragway in Iowa races Saturday, while Nitro Motorsports Park in British Columbia has races Saturday and Sunday. Another Canadian track, Saskatchewan International Raceway, has a full day of racing slated for Sunday. 

Thunder Valley Dragways in South Dakota is taking advantage of the long holiday weekend with races on Sunday and Monday.

There’s more action in Division 8 (South) where I-22 Motorsports Park in Alabama and Brainerd Motorsports Park in Georgia each have Saturday events scheduled. One week after the racing world was buzzing about NASCAR’s return to North Wilkesboro, nearby Wilkesboro Dragway has Division 9 (Raiders) races Saturday. Two hours down the road, Shadyside Dragway in Shelby, N.C., features both Saturday and Sunday points races.

There are plenty of opportunities to participate and join in the fun. However, you must be an IHRA member to be eligible for an IHRA SuperSeries track championship and qualify for the 2023 World Finals. The good news is it’s super easy to become an IHRA member.
