The IHRA Summit SuperSeries program now features over $275,000 in prizes and payouts to be awards to be given at the IHRA World Finals on October 5-7 at Holly Springs, Mississippi. But to participate in the Summit SuperSeries program and compete for the big money and great prizes, you must be an IHRA member.
You certainly have plenty of opportunities to race for both track and IHRA Summit SuperSeries points as the action begins in Division 1 (Patriots) with a couple of scenic tracks in Southwest Virginia. Elk Creek Dragway and the recently renamed Pulaski County Motorsports Park each have bracket racing scheduled for Saturday.
Moving westward, Division 2 (Heatwave) races take place Saturday in Tennessee with English Mountain Dragway and Gleason Raceway Park. Beacon Dragway in Kentucky is also hosting Division 2 racing.
The historic Muncie Dragway in Indiana and Quaker City Motorsports Park have Division 3 (North Stars) action on tap. Pacemakers Outlaw Motorsports Park has a fun-filled weekend with two days of points racing and an IHRA Ironman Classic. Another Indiana track, Bunker Hill, has two days of Division 5 (Thunder) points races on Saturday and Sunday.
It’s shaping up to be a busy Saturday in the state of Texas with Division 4 (Renegades) races at four different facilities. It includes Amarillo Dragway, Little River Dragway, Paris Dragstrip and Penwell Knights Raceway.
Iowa track, Humboldt Dragway brings Division 6 (Midwest) racing to its venue on Saturday, while there are two days of racing Saturday and Sunday at the showcase Onawa Dragway. Heading across the border into Canada, there are also two days of racing scheduled at Nitro Motorsports Park in British Columbia.
Nearly 42 hours and 4,500 miles away from Nitro, there is Friday and Saturday races for the Division 8 (South) competitors at Alabama International Dragway. Wrapping up the schedule, Knoxville Dragway, a track which has produced three IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Champions over the last five years also has a day of Division 8 racing on Saturday.
