Many racers commented on the grand prizes — a custom-built Ezell dragster, an inTech all-aluminum frame enclosed trailer from Flying A Motorsports, a sturdy open trailer from B&C Trailer Services, a certificate from Evil SwingArms towards the purchase of a new swingarm and a Club Car golf cart supplied by Dart’s Carts.
The racers talked about the great competition, how you had to be at your best to compete with all the champions across North America, but how there was still great fellowship and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
“I really enjoyed it, a great race weekend,” said Top runner-up Tony Petersen, a Nebraska racer representing Onawa Dragway. “We definitely had a good time besides the racing. The camaraderie of everyone. It’s like a big family without a lot of people who are standoffish. There are a lot of good people here.”
The IHRA thanks all the racers who participated, the great group at Holly Springs Motorsports Park who were unbelievable hosts for a second straight year, our corporate partners like Summit Racing Equipment and Strange Engineering, those who provided the grand prizes, the IHRA TV broadcast team bringing the action live to those who couldn’t be there in person, BME Photography, the entire IHRA staff and all others who helped make it an unforgettable event.
For a second straight year, Pam Kendrick did an amazing job setting up the Racer Appreciation Party. The racers were able to enjoy good food and live music in addition to fellowship where they shared their love of the sport.
Congratulations to all who made it to the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering. That is quite an accomplishment in itself. Special congrats to all the Race of Champions winners and those who advanced rounds in eliminations. It was also good to see the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Champions take home big money and the great grand prizes.
We’re glad you had a good time and look forward to seeing you again next year.
