Action begins Friday with the Top Bulb and Bottom Bulb classes hosting $2,500-to-win races with 50 cars. There are races also for the Sportsman, Junior Dragster and Motorcycle classes.
Saturday’s action is highlighted by the IHRA Ironman races with $5,000-to-win races for the Top Bulb and Bottom Bulb competitors with a minimum of 80 cars in each class. The Sportsman and Motorcycle classes are also in action. There are two Junior Dragster classes sponsored by Vaughan Oil and Sunoco Race Fuels. They are the Lightning (ages 10-17) and Thunder (ages 6-9).
Entry fees for the Top Bulb and Bottom Bulb at $75 on Friday and $100 on Saturday or $160 for both days. It’s $50 each day for the Sportsman and Motorcycle classes and $80 for both days.
Gates open at noon Friday with time runs to start at 2 p.m. Saturday sees gate open at 8 a.m. and time runs to begin at 10 a.m. Beyond the racing, a kids’ costume contest and games take place Saturday from 2-4 p.m. with trick-or-treating to begin at 5 p.m. A best decorated Halloween pit area award will also be presented.
