Friday, 25 October 2024

HOUSE SPRINGS, MO — Six of the top seven riders in the 2024 IHRA Summit SuperSeries Motorcycle National Top 10 list all come from Tennessee tracks.

Grady Powell was the fourth Knoxville Dragway racer in seven years to win an IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Championship. For the second straight year, the Motorcycle World Champion came from a Tennessee drag strip following Kane Austin from Music City Raceway in 2023.

Music City Raceway had multiple riders in the top seven headed by runner-up Baley Miles who actually qualified at the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser at Ethridge Motorsports Park. Austin, the defending champion, was sixth in the national standings, followed by No. 7 Billy Warren who won the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular at Music City.

Powell was the Knoxville Dragway track champion, while Dalton Markham, No. 3 nationally, qualified by winning the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular at Knoxville. John Markham in the No. 4 spot, was the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular winner at Gleason Raceway Park. The Markhams are also regular competitors at Music City Raceway.

Doug Fisher, the track champion at Bunker Hill Dragstrip in Indiana, was fifth nationally. Three other IHRA Summit SuperSeries track champions fill out the list.

John Jones from Ozark Raceway Park was No. 8, followed by Thomas Bixler from Great Lakes Dragaway, the oldest continuously operating drag strip in the United States. One of the newer tracks was represented with Dwayne Magee from Xtreme Raceway Park.

Congratulations to all the riders on the list. We complete the National Top 10 lists tomorrow with the Junior Dragsters.
