She comes from Campobello, S.C. in Spartanburg County in the South Carolina upstate.  The 2010 census counted just over 500 residents, but one of the town’s families has contributed several race car drivers and one gifted singer to International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) events.

JULIAN, N.C. — The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Summit Sportsman National Championship returned to action June 23-25 with the eighth-stop in the 15-stop series at Piedmont Dragway.

Myron Piatek scored the weekend sweep in the Stock division, while Mark Nowicki extended his Super Stock winning streak to three races on Saturday before Emory Pierpoint took top honors on Sunday. Saturday’s Top Dragster final saw both racers match their dial-in times perfectly.

The transformation is almost complete at Quaker City Motorsports Park.
