For the first time ever the Summit Pro-Am Tour and Summit Super Series awards ceremony will be webcast live form Memphis International Raceway. The webcast will begin at 11:00am Central time.
Congratulations are in order for Ronnie Humphrey and the Coastal Plains Dragway family as well as Jim Hughes and the Tucson Dragway family. The two tracks pulled off a seemingly impossible feat. Those tracks have racers in each of the three classes racing for the Summit Super Series World Championships at the IHRA World Finals in Memphis this weekend.
The long wait is finally over for D1 and D9 competitors. After battling Mother Nature for the last several weeks it was finally time to do battle at Piedmont for the remaining spots in the Summit Super Series World Championships.
Russ Denmark (Top) and Paul Scribani (Mod) will be the terror twins looking to dominate the Summit Super Series World Championship in Memphis this weekend and bring a championship home to Skyview Dragway. Both drivers maintained their winning efforts through two days of rain and track drying at Pittsburgh Raceway Park over the weekend causing the semi finals and final rounds to be run late Saturday after starting eliminations Friday morning.
Ferrow, Snoden and Marcum capture Summit Super Series championships.
Brainerd Optimist's Steven Ferrow (Top), I-64's Travis Snoden (Mod) and Ozark Raceway's Christopher Marcum (Junior) outpaced the Summit Super Series field to secure their spots in the Summit Super Series World Championships during this coming weekend's Summit World Finals in Memphis. Ferrow used a .032 starting line advantage and a .01 over against Gulfport's Gerald Franks in the final round. Not to be outdone, Travis Snoden blistered the tree with a perfect light to take out Mo-Kan Dragway's Shane Rees in the final round of Mod. In Junior competition, Christopher Marcum gave up a starting line advantage to Mo-Kan Dragway's Blaine Rees but drove the finish line to perfection running dead-on for the win.
Big Country Raceway’s Jon Chamberlain secured a coveted spot in the Summit Super Series World Championships by winning the Top ET Summit Super Series race at the Pine Valley IHRA Summit Team Finals. Chamberlain used a .01 leave and a .01 over 5.530 to hold off Pine Valley’s Bart Nelson in the finals.
The Super Series Runoffs that were scheduled to be contested this weekend at Piedmont Dragway have been re-scheduled and will now be contested on Tuesday, October 6.
