The International Hot Rod Association pays its respects on Memorial Day to honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives in service to our country. There have been many great racing events over the weekend and more scheduled today. While we’re having a good time at the races, a cookout or however we’re spending the day, let’s remember those who gave everything they had to defend our country and way of life, and the families they left behind.
WEST SALEM, OH — Joe Soucek Jr. added to his rich history of big wins at Dragway 42 by winning the Top (Box) class at the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering on Saturday night.
Soucek, who doubled up making to the final round in both Top and Mod at the 2019 IHRA Sportsman Spectacular held at the same track, was joined by Jon Lowery (Mod), Mitch Williams (Sportsman), Zac Gill (Motorcycle) and Brayden Baehr (Junior Dragster) as winners of the prestigious races.
GOODLETTSVILLE, TN — Five racers —John Labbous Jr., Jordan Echols, Jordan Johnson, Jordan Weiss and Elliot Echols — heard the sweet sound of victory at the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser at Music City Raceway on Saturday night.
The drivers went home with the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies, big checks and special IHRA commemorative medals. Drivers, who were IHRA members, gained entry into the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering.
MUNCIE, IN — International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) track owners and operators across the nation have worked hard through the offseason and early part of the 2024 season to provide the best facilities possible for their racers and other visitors.
Count a trio of Indiana drag strips — Muncie Dragway, Bunker Hill Dragstrip and US 41 Dragway — among those. While much of the motorsports world will be focused on the Hoosier State this weekend with the Indianapolis 500, these tracks have their own marquee events coming up.
HOUSE SPRINGS, MO — The International Hot Rod Association loves the participation of Junior Dragster racers at the IHRA-member tracks across North America.
Nowhere has the history of Great Lakes Dragaway in Wisconsin where 12-year old Benjamin Sarauer looks to make his own history racing in the Junior Dragster Super Pro class.
ORANGEBURG, SC — The International Hot Rod Association regrets to inform our member racers that South Carolina Motorplex is no longer an IHRA-sanctioned track.
We understand this will raise questions and concerns regarding points and the IHRA Summit Team Finals. All IHRA member racers at South Carolina Motorplex will be notified via text and email as details are finalized. Plans addressing those issues will soon be announced.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition period. Thank you for your continued support of the IHRA.
Even with race season under way, it’s never too late to update your IHRA race car. Summit Racing Equipment offers these parts to help you do just that.
HUMBOLDT, IA — Racers have the chance to double up in spectacular fashion at Humbolt County Dragway on Saturday, June 1.
That’s when the Iowa track is hosting the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering. It’s going to be a double points day in the track’s IHRA Summit SuperSeries program, while racers in five classes — Top ET (Box), Mod ET (No Box), Sportsman, Motorcycle and Junior Dragster — will compete for prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies and the very popular oversized championship checks. IHRA members will also be in the running for limited-edition Sportsman Spectacular commemorative medals.
HOUSE SPRINGS, MO — It’s the biggest racing weekend of the year and the International Hot Rod Association is gearing up for it to be spectacular.
That’s because there are two IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering events on Saturday. Races are to be held at Music City Raceway in suburban Nashville and Dragway 42 in West Salem, Ohio. While there are iconic events like the Indianapolis 500, NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 and the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix held this wekeend, drag racers can look to IHRA Summit SuperSeries races and other big events at their local tracks.
