May, a Greentown, Ind., driver, became the winner of the Box gamblers race when his final-round opponent Jeff Burdess was too anxious to get started. May eased into a .114 reaction time after Burdess, a Hemlock, Mich., racer, triggered the light by a half-second.
The No Box final saw Green from Fostoria, Mich., also win on a red-light. He put together a hard-to-beat run of 6.748 seconds at 100.38 against a 6.74 dial-in and a .007 start. It was all a formality as Pena had gotten off the line -.004 too quick. Pena from Palos Park, Ill., went on down the track in 8.484 seconds at 78.98 mph.
Michigan racers met in the finals of both Street and Juniors. In the Street final, Chris Klein from New Boston had a stout package with a 7.549-second run at 87.98 mph against a 7.54 dial-in and a .018 reaction time. Matt Nap from Kalamazoo ended in 7.539 seconds and 82.49 mph after a .032 start.
In the Junior Dragster ranks, Braden Peters from Howell won on a holeshot going .066 to beat Ryden Selleck from Fenwick who left in .153 seconds. Peters posted a 7.924 second-run at 79.69 mph against a 7.90 dial-in. Selleck’s totals included a 12.009-seocnd pass at 54.54 mph against a 12.01 dial-in.
