O'Bryant showed plenty of power with a 5.957-second run at 115.47 mph on a 5.94 dial-in after a .008 reaction time. He got the best of Zach Crandall who completed the 1/8-mile in 6.226 seconds at 110.65 mph on a 6.21 dial-in with a .015 start.
Enox, who would go on to finish runner-up in the main event, had a 6.472-second pass at 104.60 mph on a 6.48 dial-in. While he broke out, he still gained the victory when Allen Frideck red-lighted. It spoiled a potential winning run for Friedeck who went 6.943 seconds at 99.78 against a 6.94 dial-in.
The Sportsman victory went to Aaron Jordan, who eased down the drag strip in 10.192 seconds after final-round opponent Nicole Bolton fouled by -.003 at the start. Bolton recovered from the disappointment to win the main event the next day. She went ahead and made a pass at 7.498 seconds and 90.22 mph.
Cameron Nelson won the Juniors race on a holeshot. He was .043 off the starting line with a 7.981-second pass at 75.90 mph. Mason Boulware, who was .136 at the start, was runner-up with an 8.975-second run at 70 mph.
There were four Gamblers races also part of the event.
Matt Diamond was the winner in Box with Kenny Propst his final-round opponent. In the No Box final, Coy Worley scored the victory with Aaron Jones the runner-up.
Norman Derks was the Sportsman winner, taking the victoy over Stephen Essl. Quind Posher picked up the Juniors win, while Ty Janousek was runner-up. Like Bolton in the Race of Champions, he went on to win Saturday’s main event.
