Our bread-and-butter is still the grassroots, Sportsman racer and the IHRA is as committed as ever with schedules for the IHRA Summit Team Finals and IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering and FuelTech to be released in the coming weeks.
On that note, we thank partners like Summit Racing Equipment, Sunoco Race Fuels, RJS, Darana Hybrid, Laris Insurance, ATI and others for their ongoing support. With the IHRA Hot Rod Classic, other key sponsors like Don Baskin Truck Sales and M&M Transmission have come on board. In addition, Strange Engineering became a presenting sponsor at the 2023 IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals.
For the first time, a Motorcycle class competed at the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals with Kane Austin beating William Keele Jr. in the final round. Other 2023 IHRA World Champions were: Jeromy Hefler (Top), Wesley Lockhart (Mod), Aaron Richards (Sportsman) and A.J. Leung (Junior Dragster). Prizes and payouts reached over $275,000 for the racers.
Tracks have taken notice with 15 sanctioning agreements announced over the last month alone. There are more announcements coming in January as the IHRA membership and programs offer great benefits to the tracks and the racers.
Thanks to partners Morrow Brothers Ford and Extreme Racing Oils, IHRA is offering tracks an opportunity to make substantial money by giving them tickets to distribute for a chance to win a new Ford F-150 4-wheel drive truck valued at $60,000. Only held at IHRA-member tracks, 100 percent of the proceeds go to the tracks to be used however it is needed.
It’s certainly great to end 2023 with such momentum and we promise to keep working hard for you in 2024.
