Bradley Richardson represented the Tennessee track in the Top (Box) class at the 2023 IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering. Daniel Riddle was the Mod (No Box) representative.
They’re able to draw racers from Nashville, Chattanooga and neighboring Alabama to the all-concrete, 1/8-mile drag strip, although there’s a lot of other tracks nearby. Kevin explained other track operators appreciate how they do their best to work with them and not schedule events on top of each other.
John added there’s a family atmosphere and a willingness to help out another racer if his or her car breaks. As previously mentioned, they’re racers themselves and put in the effort to make Ethridge Motorsports Park a fun place to power down the drag strip.
Ethridge Motorsports Park has seen many upgrades such as a new timing system and new lights under the Burleson family’s leadership. There is a new sound system going up this winter. The concession stand, which features such items as chicken soup and chili, has grown by leaps and bounds.
Ethridge Motorsports Park even hosted an IHRA Ironman Classic back in July as part of the track’s Summer Madness event. Race winners included: Corey Saint (Box), Daniel Riddle (No Box), Kendall Gillespie (Sportsman), Brandon Dudley (Motorcycle) and Cam Chapman (Junior Dragster).
