The International Hot Rod Association™ is thrilled to announce the addition of Central Illinois Dragway to the IHRA Member Track family.
Located in rural Havana, Illinois, Central Illinois Dragway is one of the longest running dragstrips in the state with continuous drag racing since 1969. Over the past decade the track has undergone a number of renovations under the direction of owner Frank Hutto and track manager Jeff Lasecke including a completely new track surface, a brand new shutdown area and a new return road with more improvements still to come.
Thanks to that dedication to the track and to the racers, Central Illinois Dragway has earned a reputation as one of the most popular racetracks in the area and one the IHRA is proud to welcome to the member track family.
Following another banner year for the popular Summit SuperSeries presented by AMSOIL and Summit Team Finals presented by AMSOIL programs, the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) is excited to announce its Summit Team Finals schedule for the 2014 racing season.
Designed to give local racers an opportunity to compete on a national stage, the Summit SuperSeries and the Summit Team Finals events have grown each year since its inception in 2002. Today, thousands of racers from across North America compete at their local track for an opportunity to advance to the Summit Team Finals for a fun weekend of fellowship and competition.
“Over the past decade the Summit SuperSeries and the Summit Team Finals has grown into the preeminent grassroots racing program,” said Skooter Peaco, IHRA Motorsports Vice President. “It has been very exciting watching this series grow like it has to include tracks and racers from all corners of North America. Overall the Summit Team Finals is a fun event for the racers and a great way to give them the spotlight that they deserve.”
IHRA is excited to announce the addition of Mo-Kan Dragway to the IHRA Member Track family.
Located in Asbury, Missouri on the Missouri-Kansas border, Mo-Kan Dragway has been open for more than 50 years, spending most of that time as an outlaw track before joining the IHRA family earlier this month. The track is currently under the leadership of owner and operator Carl Blanton.
“We are honored to be selected to join the IHRA family and look forward to being part of the Summit SuperSeries and all of the great programs the IHRA has to offer,” Blanton said. “Being part of the IHRA gives us the status we need to keep moving forward with improvements and upgrades to our facility while adding new value to the ‘Mo-Kan experience’ for all of our racers and fans.”
One of the longest running and most exciting events in IHRA history is returning to the schedule as the IHRA Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series welcomes back the 24th annual Summer Nationals the weekend of July 18-19, 2014 at Cordova Dragway Park in Illinois.

I can’t wait to get things started and I look forward to working with all of the racers and track operators to make this the best season ever,” said Josh Peake, IHRA Division 9 Director. “I have a strong feeling that the competition is going to be tougher than ever and hope that everyone will be ready to go when the season opens at Mooresville in March.”

This year both divisions will feature similar schedules with a few more standalone events to maximize track time for the racers."
