“I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s happy to move the Division back to having double race weekends in conjunction with the National Events,” said Division Director Jon O’Neal. “The return to doubles throughout the division and the addition of the Junior Dragster program should lead to a great season among the Division.”
Junior competitors will now be able to complete for Summit Pro-Am championships in beginner, advanced and master classes in Division 3 thanks to support from longtime series partner Summit Racing Equipment. All events will feature the familiar two race in one weekend format and will feed the Tournament of Champions with the Top 3 Racers (top 2 in Junior Masters and Advanced) that finish within the divisional points.
The 2016 season will include three weekends paired with the IHRA Drag Racing Series including larger National event contingency claims on Saturday along with a divisional points race on Sunday at Grand Bend Motorplex, US 131 Motorsports Park and Dragway 42. The tour will also make a familiar stop at racer favorite, Pittsburgh Raceway Park for a traditional double race Summit Pro-Am weekend.
