Most Division 9 events will feature a single race weekend with qualifying on Saturday and racing on Sunday with the exception of Carolina Dragway and Maryland International Raceway. Carolina Dragway will once again host a Division 9 and 2 double race weekend. Maryland International Raceway will also host a divison 1 and 9 event paired with the IHRA Drag Racing Series purse and contingency. Racers that finish within the top three in their divisional points (Top 2 for Junior Advanced and Master) will earn an automatic bid to the 2016 Summit Racing Equipment Tournament of Champions at Memphis International Raceway in October.
“After having a great year last year, I look forward to the events coming up in 2016”, said IHRA Division Director Josh Peake. “With multiple 2015 World Champions crowned from this division, I look forward to the competition being better than ever. Anytime time you put the best racers with some of the best facilities you know it’s going to be good”.
