London Dragway hosts the IHRA Summit SuperSeries on Saturday. It will be the first time the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering and Fuel Tech has been held at the Eastern Kentucky drag strip.

Racing begins today and includes a $1,200-to-win Gamblers race. Gates open at 8 a.m. Saturday with time trials to begin at 10 a.m. and eliminations to follow. Saturday action includes the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular race featuring a $5,000-to-win prize for the Top ET class. There are also races for the Mod, Sportsman and Junior Dragster classes.

At the end of the night, Ohio Crankshaft is sponsoring a 64-car shootout with $10,000 for the winner.

Sunday will see the gates open at 9 a.m. with new entry timed runs at 10 a.m. followed by eliminations. There is another $5,000-to-win Top ET race on Sunday with Summit SuperSeries points paid both weekend days.

Xtreme Raceway Park in Ferris, Texas features its own share of big payouts thanks to the track’s partners. The Top (Box) class sponsored by Sonnax features $3,000-to-win. It’s a $1,500-to-win Pro (No Box) class presented by Mr. Wendell’s Motorsports. The Motorcycle payout is highlighted by $500-to-win thanks to Turman Motorsports. Bontrager Racing Solutions are providing $300-to-win checks for the Sportsman and Junior Dragster classes. 

In addition to Saturday’s main event, which is also an XRP points race, there are Gamblers’ races for the Top and Pro classes on tap tonight. Other races include those for the Super Pro Green and Pro Blue classes.

Make sure your IHRA membership is up to date to be able to take advantage of all opportunities. IHRA Director of Track and Racer Relations Paige Hamlin will be on hand at XRP to assist with IHRA memberships and Division Director Cody Pollage will be on site to do chassis certifications.

Here are important facts regarding both events:

• Sportsman Spectacular winners, who are IHRA members, now earn entry into the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals in conjunction with entering at least two other IHRA races (IHRA-member track Summit SuperSeries team race or other IHRA Sportsman Spectacular races). Current IHRA membership is required.

• Event entry will take place at the track

• IHRA license renewal / chassis certification will be available on site
