Most memorable part of championship season: Nelson conquered the Top ET class with a monstrous performance at the last event of the season in his 1981 Chevy Camaro which utilizes at 632 engine and power glide transmission. He entered the last race of the season in fourth place, but managed to win round-after-round and eventually the race. Last, but not least, he used a convincingly perfect .000 reaction time and a 5.126 ET on a 5.12 dial-in to win to race and the season championship.
