Champions Will Have Chance to Defend Titles at 2023 IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals

HOUSE SPRINGS, Missouri — The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Summit SuperSeries World Championship is the crowning achievement for any grassroots, Sportsman racer.

It offers tremendous prestige with the big check from Summit Racing Equipment, an IHRA World Champion Ironman Trophy, an IHRA Gold Card and IHRA World Championship diamond ring. 

There’s another prize with today’s announcement that all 2022 IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Champions are now eligible to compete in the 2023 IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals at Holly Springs, Mississippi.

That means that Jared Ledford (Top), Grant Zimmerman (Mod), Larry Doty (Sportsman) and Aubrey Loy (Junior Dragster) have earned the right to defend their championships at the 2023 IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals. The list also includes Todd Payne, the top-finishing Electric Vehicle driver in 2022, who also advanced to the Sportsman final. 

This move brings in more stout competition, making it an even greater achievement to advance through all the elimination rounds to win the most prestigious national championship in bracket racing.

“The IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Championship is the ultimate prize for any IHRA member racer,” IHRA President Larry Jeffers said. “This adds even more to the championship prize package as it’s another way we congratulate and celebrate our 2022 World Champions.”
