Congratulations to IHRA-member tracks Kentucky Dragway and Humboldt Dragway as they begin their 60th anniversary seasons. Edinburg Motorsports Park recently had a big weekend hosting an IHRA Ironman Classic.
The addition of new tracks led to the formation of the new IHRA Division 8 featuring tracks from Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee. We know some member tracks across North America are already open, while the engines will be firing up at others soon.
It’s been a great time for partner agreements with Summit Racing Equipment lending major support to the grassroots, Sportsman programs which IHRA is known for. They’ve been such a great partner with the most prestigious national championship in bracket racing through the IHRA Summit SuperSeries, IHRA Summit Team Finals and IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals.
Sunoco Race Fuels continues to be another major supporter, while the 2023 IHRA Sportsman Spectacular is presented by longtime supporter Moser Engineering and a welcome addition with Fuel Tech.
Some of the companies who continue to lend their support include: ATI Performance Products, Red Tide Canopies, Strange Engineering and RJS Racing Equipment. We’ve had new partners like Champion Auto Lift and LJ1 Oil Products also step up.
The IHRA Sportsman Spectacular is less than three weeks away with races at Piedmont Dragway and State Capitol Raceway. New for 2023, race winners can now earn entry into the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals in conjunction with entering two other IHRA races (IHRA Summit SuperSeries team race or IHRA Sportsman Spectacular races).
Speaking of the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals, exciting additions are the grand prizes now part of the championship packages for each class.
With the grand prizes, the Top (Box) champion will receive an Ezell Race Cars custom-built chassis. For the Mod (No Box) champion, Flying A Motorsports is supplying a 28-foot enclosed trailer.
The Sportsman champion receives a flatbed car hauler from B&C Trailer Services. Longtime IHRA supporter Dart’s Carts will offer a Yamaha fuel-injected golf cart to the Junior Dragster champion.
The Motorcycle champion gets a prize from Evil SwingArms of either a basic swingarm or a $575 value towards the purchase of a higher-priced swingarm.
There’s also greater opportunities at other events with the recent announcement that Trailer Ranch has become the title sponsor for the Top ET class at both the IHRA Division 9 Summit Team Finals and the upcoming IHRA Sportsman Spectacular race at Piedmont.
It’s definitely an exciting time to be a part of the IHRA. For those interested in becoming an IHRA member or renewing your current membership, click here or call Heather at 85-JOIN IHRA.
