Rick Degeus in a 1968 Chevy Nova and Taylor Fiesel in a 1932 Bantam Altered equaled each other with .009 reaction times in the Super Pro (Box) final. Degeus posted a winning run of 8.647 seconds at 156.48 mph, while Fiesel wasn’t far behind with an 8.686-second pass at 147.97 mph.
Ken Daley was the best in the Pro (No Box) class with his Dodge Dart, although Brandon Bennett got off the starting line better with a .023 to .036 advantage in his Ford Mustang. Daley’s winning package included a 10.196 elapsed time at 131.05 mph. Bennett had the speed going down the track in 9.517 seconds at 193.29 mph.
Chantel Hendry won on a holeshot in the Sportsman final. Hendry, driving a Plymouth Duster, had a .053 reaction time to a .220 start for Garry Waldner in a Pontiac Trans Am. Hendry had a 12.705-second pass at 92.52 mph, while Waldenr posted a 12.229-second run at 115.30 mph.
The Street Legal final saw Owen Desjarlais win in his Chevy Colorado pickup when Steve Boyle’s Malibu triggered the red light. Desjarlais had a 17.441-second pass at 79.20 mph to go along with his .014 reaction time. Unfortunately for Boyle, his run of 15.495 seconds at 81.98 mph didn’t count.
It was another matchup of a Chevy Malibu and a Chevy pickup in the Junior Street Legal final. Marlee Grayce Breeze found the winning formula with a 9.894-second run at 66.91 mph, along with .200 start. Trace Wasyluk broke out with numbers of 9.797 seconds at 72.24 mph, and a .151 reaction time.
