This will serve as a points race for the track’s IHRA Summit SuperSeries program and additionally, racers will compete for the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies. Four drivers — Dion Degnitz (Top), Bob Moeller (Mod), Don Debaere (Street) and Ryder Vehring (Junior) took home IHRA Ironman trophies at Great Lakes Dragaway in 2023.

The IHRA Ironman Classic program is offered to all IHRA member tracks. Prior to this program, a Sportsman racer could only win an Ironman if they traveled to an IHRA Summit Team Finals, Sportsman Spectacular or World Finals. This program gives local tracks a chance to create extra excitement in their bracket program and offer competitors a chance to win the prestigious Ironman.

The track, the oldest continually operating purpose-built drag strip in the country, maintains one of the busiest schedules of any track around. Track owners Randy Henning and Marcel Kuper have done a fantastic job over the years constantly improving the track, including major renovations in 2022.
