Muncie Dragway Continues to Provide Racers Great Events With Ironman

MUNCIE, IN — Muncie Dragway has a tradition of bringing great events to its racers.

Recently, the historic Indiana track hosted the IHRA Ironman Classic along with its World Products racing program. Ford’s Transmission LTD allowed the track to give increased payouts.

Wes May captured both the winner and runner-up spot in the Diamond Engine and Machine Top class.

Steve Dillman ended in the winner’s circle in the Sam Pierce Chevrolet Mod class as Juston Dillman was his final-round opponent.

Derek Simon, who finished No. 3 in the 2023 IHRA Summit SuperSeries national standings, had a dominating day to win the Adam’s Auto Repair Sportsman class.

There were two Albany Golf Club Junior Dragster races with Delaney Wathen getting her first Ironman by beating Chas Warpenburg in the major final.

Byron Kirkpatrick got the Ironman win in the Junior Dragster minor final with Ava Kirkpatrick the runner-up.

There were two Ohio Crankshaft Quick 8 races with Dave Purk getting past Greg Gaskin the dragster final. Mike Ford was the door car winner, beating Dave Maggard in the final round.
