MOUNT OLIVE, Ala. — New track operators Marvin “Frogg” and Tessa Rogers see a diamond in the rough with Lassiter Mountain Dragway presented by Mobsquad Performance.

The drag strip 15 miles north of Birmingham enjoyed a good reputation and strong support in the past as an IHRA-member track. In more recent years, it has struggled . When the Rogers family inspected the facility, they saw plenty of good things like concrete walls and restrooms still in decent shape.

ROXBORO, N.C. — Big money will be up for grabs three days with the IHRA Ironman Fall Bash Challenge at Roxboro Motorsports Park on August 18-20.

There are guaranteed purses for the Top ET (Box) and Footbrake (No Box) classes each day as the cars rumble down the 1/8-mile drag strip. The prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies will be awarded for Saturday’s race.

CLAY CITY, Ky. — Plenty of history and great payouts highlight the 43rd annual King of the Bluegrass event rescheduled Saturday at Kentucky Dragway.

The IHRA Ironman Classic is part of the event with Ironman trophies awarded to the Top ET, Modified, Footbrake, Jr. Dragster and Sportsman classes. At the end of the day, there will be a run-off for the King of the Bluegrass crown.

HARTSVILLE, S.C. — Welcome home, Darlington Dragway.

It was announced Saturday the legendary South Carolina track is returning to the International Hot Rod Association in 2024. The 1/4-mile drag strip was constructed by Harold Brasington, who built nearby Darlington Raceway, and Woodrow Hall under the guidance of IHRA founder Larry Carrier. Opened in 1976, the venue served as a mainstay on the IHRA schedule.
