HOUSE SPRINGS, Mo. — The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) continues to highlight the future of drag racing with the great Junior Dragster racers across North America.
Presley Rayne Peagler, a 10-year-old from Sylvania, Georgia, is the latest racer to be highlighted. Introduced to the sport by her grandfather whom she calls her racing hero, Presley is in her second year competing at South Carolina Motorplex.
SOUTH WEBSTER, Ohio — KD Motorsports Park found a good home with the International Hot Rod Association and will continue under IHRA sanction thanks to a multi-year agreement announced today.
The Southeastern Ohio track near the Kentucky border is an 1/8-mile track distinguished by the big hill at the end of the shutdown area. Since founded by Darrell Leadingham in 1989, the track has hosted a variety of race cars including Jet Cars and Pro Stock, but it was the desire to grow its bracket series program that brought KD Motorsports Park back to the IHRA in 2023.
MARION, S.D. — Thunder Valley Dragways will rumble into the future with a new multi-year sanctioning agreement with the International Hot Rod Association.
Track owner Glen Rapp first opened the Marion, South Dakota facility in 1967. Thunder Valley, which sits 30 miles west of Sioux Falls, features a 1/4-mile asphalt track, a 300-feet concrete launching pad and 1,430 feet of elevation. There are over 100 camping spaces with electric hook-ups, an unlimited amount of non-electric spaces and full restrooms with showers.
CLAY CITY, Ky. — Kentucky Dragway and the International Hot Rod Association will build on their long history together in 2024 and beyond.
Aaron Sipple and his wife, Carrie, operate the track located just off the Mountain Parkway at the foothills of Appalachia. There’s a sense of pride, but also responsibility. Aaron’s parents, the late John “Doc” Sipple and his loving wife Doris Sipple which is still with us, were the previous operators of the facility from 1991 to 2001.
ROGERSVILLE, Mo. — Ozark Raceway Park has agreed to a multi-year renewal with the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) it was announced today.
Programs like the IHRA Summit SuperSeries, the most prestigious national championship in bracket racing, and the IHRA Ironman Classic have proven to be very popular with Ozark Raceway Park’s competitors.
HOLLY SPRINGS, Ms. — Holly Springs Motorsports Park has proven to be a favorite venue for International Hot Rod Association racers as it has hosted the IHRA Division 2 (Heat Wave) Summit Team Finals and IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering each of the last two years.
The North Mississippi track, known for its great hospitality and conveniently located off Interstate 22, has extended its partnership as an IHRA-member track with a multi-year sanctioning agreement.
WEST SALEM, Ohio — Dragway 42 certainly lived up to its reputation as a multi-purpose facility in 2023. The track, which recently renewed a multi-year IHRA sanctioning agreement, hosted music concerts, autocross, tractor pulls and more in addition to its great drag racing.
The West Salem, Ohio facility, which was purchased by Ron and Mary Anne Matcham in 2013 and underwent a major renovation in 2017, was transformed in July for the Dragway 42 Music Festival. It was headlined by such acts as Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick and Big and Rich.
XENIA, Ohio — Some of the most legendary names in motorsports have competed at Kil-Kare Raceway. But, the commitment to the grassroots, Sportsman racer is the reason for today’s announcement the historic facility has entered a multi-year sanctioning agreement with the International Hot Rod Association.
HOUSE SPRINGS, Mo. — Xtreme Raceway Park drivers made a huge impact at the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering.
None more so than Jeromy Hefler, who overcome injuries months before to get back in the race car and qualify for the World Finals at the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering and FuelTech hosted by Xtreme Raceway Park.
FERRIS, Texas — Xtreme Raceway Park was built by Pro Mod racer Clyde Scott who always kept the racer in mind. Keeping them in mind is a big reason the Texas track has extended its multi-year sanctioning agreement with the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA).
With the love for the sport and support from the entire Scott family, Clyde gave it his all to build the nicest 1/8-mile track in the country. He succeeded with a track that features an all-concrete racing surface with concrete walls, multiple 82-inch televisions throughout the facility, nice bleachers on both sides of the track and a drive-under tower.
