We start the road to the championship in North Carolina, where Roxboro Dragway has two days of Division 1 (Patriots) points racing lined up for Saturday and Sunday. Across the border in Virginia, Elk Creek Dragway has another Saturday points race.
In Division 2 (Heatwave), it’s two for Tennessee with both Music City Raceway and Ethridge Motorsports Park on the Saturday schedule. Beacon Dragway in Kentucky also has Division 2 racing Saturday as does Jeffers Motorsports Park in Missouri.
The IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering and FuelTech is slated Saturday at Quaker City Motorsports Park. Other Division 3 (North Stars) tracks— Kuhnle Motorsports Park in Ohio and Muncie Dragway in Indiana — feature IHRA Summit SuperSeries racing.
They say everything is bigger in Texas and there are three Division 4 (Renegades) races scheduled for Saturday. Amarillo Dragway, Paris Dragway and Xtreme Raceway Park are all hosting great Summit SuperSeries action. So is Albuquerque Dragway in New Mexico one week prior to its big 60th anniversary celebration.
I57 Dragstrip is hosting an IHRA Ironman Classic to give an extra boost to its Division 5 (Thunder) races Saturday. Indiana tracks — Bunker Hill Dragstrip and US 41 Dragstrip — are also bringing the thunder, as is the scenic Wisconsin International Raceway.
Speaking of the rumblings, Thunder Valley Dragways in South Dakota has two days of Division 6 (Midwest) racing scheduled as does Onawa Dragway in Iowa. Another track in the Hawkeye State, Humboldt Dragway, is also racing on Saturday.
We head back east where a pair of Division 8 (South) tracks — I-22 Motorsports Park in Alabama and Brainerd Motorsports Park in Georgia — have Saturday races. Then, we wrap up where we started in the Tar Heel State. Two more North Carolina tracks — Wilkesboro Dragway and Shadyside Dragway — have Division 9 (Raiders) races on tap for Saturday.
