It’s your chance to score a marquee win at the track nicknamed “The Biggest Little Track in the World.” Great Lakes Dragway is the oldest continually operating purpose-built drag strip in the country, but still one of the most active track around.

The IHRA Ironman Classic program is offered to all IHRA member tracks. Prior to this program, a Sportsman racer could only win an Ironman if they traveled to an IHRA Summit Team Finals, Sportsman Spectacular or World Finals. This program gives local tracks a chance to create extra excitement in their bracket program and offer competitors a chance to win the prestigious Ironman trophy.

Great Lakes Dragaway also hosted an IHRA Ironman Classic in 2023. Dion Degnitz (Top), Bob Moeller (Mod), Don Debaere (Street) and Ryder Vehring (Junior) took home IHRA Ironman trophies for their race wins. Degnitz and Moeller each drove Chevrolet Camaros to race wins, while Debaere was behind the wheel of a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.
