It is amazing how one seemingly insignificant decision can have such a profound impact on a person’s life. Or, in the case of IHRA Mod ET World Champion Mark Pressey, an entire racing season.

Sometimes, it is just your day.

Raymond Beadle, a three-time IHRA world champion and championship NASCAR team owner, died Monday at Baylor University Medical Center. He was 70.

Beadle was known in the drag racing community as owner-driver of the “Blue Max” nitro Funny Car. Beadle won three IHRA championships in 1975-76 and 1981 with 19 national event victories. He also won three championships with the NHRA.

Following an exciting and surprise-filled Summit World Finals held this month at Memphis International Raceway, the IHRA is excited to announce the top 10 drivers in each class.

All positions in the IHRA top 10 are determined by head-to-head competition during the Summit Racing Equipment Tournament of Champions presented by AMSOIL. In addition, the IHRA will highlight each 2014 IHRA World Champion over the coming weeks.

The International Hot Rod Association’s™ (IHRA) Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series formally wrapped up its season during a special awards celebration held earlier this week at Minglewood Hall in Memphis.

The International Hot Rod Association wrapped up its 2014 season Sunday with the crowning of champions in 15 IHRA classes during a busy weekend at the IHRA Summit Racing Equipment World Finals at Memphis International Raceway.

Congratulations to the winners of the 2014 IHRA Summit Racing Equipment World Championships presented by AMSOIL – Mike Koontz, Kevin Brannon, Scotty Stillings, Jimmie Hutto, Jeremy Mason, Michael Ruff, Tony Jones, Cody Bayus, Mark Pressey, John Tolisano III.
