CLAY CITY, Ky. — Plenty of history and great payouts highlight the 43rd annual King of the Bluegrass event rescheduled Saturday at Kentucky Dragway.

The IHRA Ironman Classic is part of the event with Ironman trophies awarded to the Top ET, Modified, Footbrake, Jr. Dragster and Sportsman classes. At the end of the day, there will be a run-off for the King of the Bluegrass crown.

HARTSVILLE, S.C. — Welcome home, Darlington Dragway.

It was announced Saturday the legendary South Carolina track is returning to the International Hot Rod Association in 2024. The 1/4-mile drag strip was constructed by Harold Brasington, who built nearby Darlington Raceway, and Woodrow Hall under the guidance of IHRA founder Larry Carrier. Opened in 1976, the venue served as a mainstay on the IHRA schedule.

PAGELAND, S.C. — A special shout-out to Pageland Dragway operators Ben and Mandy Harris. They’re another great example of those who work regular jobs through the week, but are dedicated to providing top-notch experiences to enjoy the sport we love.

HOUSE SPRINGS, Mo. — More than any other sport, the love of motorsports is passed on from generation to generation.

It’s certainly the case with the latest pair of Junior Dragster racers the International Hot Rod Association is highlighting. Elizabeth and Emily Wehling are third-generation drag racers from Omaha, Nebraska.

ETHRIDGE, Tenn. — Five racers emerged victorious at Ethridge Motorsports Park last Saturday with the IHRA Ironman Classic part of the track’s Summer Madness event.

HOUSE SPRINGS, Mo. — The first weekend of August features a jam-packed schedule of IHRA Summit SuperSeries points races in the different International Hot Rod Association divisions across North America.

WEST SALEM, Ohio — Dragway 42 will once again host the International Hot Rod Association Division 3 (North Stars) Summit Team Finals on September 7-9.

ALBANY, Ind. — Greg Brown, Shane Daugherty, Derek Simon and Dexter Gomez captured big wins at the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented Moser Engineering and FuelTech last Saturday at Muncie Dragway.

HOUSE SPRINGS, Mo. — The International Hot Rod Association is highlighting the drag racing stars of the future with series of Junior Dragster profiles.

Forest Long, a 13-year-old hometown racer at Albuquerque Dragway, is the latest subject. Long, who has a 2003 Mike Bos dragster, has been racing as long as he can remember.

SHELBY, N.C. — Shadyside Dragway operator Seth Buff sees the correlation between his track joining the International Hot Rod Association last fall and it paying off this season.

“We’ve had a great year, on course to have one of the better years that I’ve experienced,” Buff said. “It’s a great year for racing. Our bracket racing and our heads-up racing have been tough. It’s been a good year, through and through.”
