Farmington Dragway outdistanced Elk Creek Dragway by nine points to win the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Division 9 (Raiders) Summit Team Finals Championship at Piedmont Dragway in Julian, N.C.

Farmington won 60-51 over Elk Creek with the home track of Piedmont third.

WEST SALEM, Ohio — Rob Harvischak from Warren, Ohio won Sunday’s International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Summit Sportsman National Championship race at Dragway 42 to become IHRA Top Sportsman National Champion.

Harvischak’s victory allowed him to overtake Marlon Goates, the Troy, Texas driver who came into the weekend as the class leader.

WEST SALEM, Ohio —The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Summit Sportsman National Championship made the final stop in the 14-stop racing series on Sept. 23-24 at Dragway 42.

Jake Foster swept Junior Dragster races and Jimmy Hidalgo Jr. made the final round both days in Stock competition. Vernon Rowland was a finalist in both Quick Rod and Super Rod on Saturday. It was a family affair in Quick Rod on Sunday with Kristopher Fields and Steve Fields meeting in the final.

Competitors entered the weekend events in the following classes: Top Dragster, Top Sportsman, Quick Rod, Super Rod, Hot Rod, Super Stock, Stock and Junior Dragster. Full results are available here:http://dragstory.com/forum/index.php?board=324.0; a weekend recap of Dragway 42 action is below.

The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Division 9 (Raiders) Summit Team Finals take place this weekend at Piedmont Dragway in Julian, N.C. featuring drivers and teams from the Carolinas, Tennessee and Virginia.

When International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) teams arrive at Dragway 42 later this week for the final weekend of the IHRA Summit Sportsman National Championship, they won’t find one general manager; they’ll be greeted by co-general managers. Gary Harper joined the Dragway 42 team in August after working at several United States facilities as well as Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.  The “other” general manager is Harper’s wife, Gari.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The inaugural season of the International Hot Rod Association Summit Sportsman National Championship is racing towards a fantastic finish.

Drivers and teams will be headed to Dragway 42 in West Salem, Ohio for the series’ 14th and final stop. Under the SSNC format, championships are determined using points claims from the best seven of the competitor’s first 10 races.

Darlington Dragway had a 1-2 finish amongst itself in the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Division 2 (Heat Wave) Summit Team Finals last weekend at Carolina Dragway.

Entering two teams in the competition, the Darlington team No. 1 finished with 48 points and Darlington No. 2 was right behind with 45 points. Teams from the host Carolina Dragway, Dorchester Dragway and Ware Shoals Dragway also participated.

Drivers from US 131 Motorsports Park certainly enjoyed the home track advantage in the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Division 5 (Thunder) Summit Team Finals held last weekend at the Martin, Mich., facility.

US 131 rolled to an 89-58 win over runner-up Muncie Dragway in the competition that included some of the most iconic tracks in the Midwest.

It came down to just two points.

Empire Dragway edged Quaker City Motorsports Park 51-49 for the team championship at the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Division 3 (North Stars) Summit Team Finals last weekend at Keystone Raceway Park.
