The repaving project that was started at Grand Bend last week was completed over the weekend.  

 

Dave Mann (Street) and Tom Ozinga (Motrocycle) claimed individual championships while leading Thompson Dragway Park to victory during the D3 Summit Team Finals at Pittsburgh Raceway Park.  Thompson defeated second place Beaver Springs Dragway by a blistering twenty four points thanks to Team Thompson drivers showing up in four of the five final rounds.   

The Summit Super Series, IHRA’s largest and most prestigious program for weekly bracket racers, has taken the next step in the evolution of the series.  Beginning in 2016, the Summit Super Series track champions of each IHRA member track will win the right to compete in the Summit World Finals held at Memphis International Raceway on October 14-16, 2016. 

The Summit Team Finals events for D1 and D9 at Piedmont Dragway that were rained out have now been officially postponed until the spring of 2016.

FOWLER - Robert Thomas "Bullet Bob" Floch, 71, of Fowler Township, passed away Tuesday night, Oct. 27, 2015, at Sharon Regional Health System.

The International Hot Rod Association™ (IHRA) is proud to announce the addition of the three IHRA Junior dragster classes to both the Patriots and North Stars Divisions. Junior competitors will now be able to complete for Summit Pro-Am championships in beginner, advanced and master classes thanks to support from longtime series partner Summit Racing Equipment.

The International Hot Rod Association™ (IHRA) Summit Tournament of Champions and Summit SuperSeries World Championship events will return to Memphis International Raceway (MIR) in 2016.  The track will host what is collectively known as the Summit Racing Equipment World Finals on October 14-16, 2016.

International Hot Rod Association™ (IHRA) officials and IRG Sports + Entertainment™ (IRG) unveiled the 2016 IHRA Drag Racing Series schedule today. The 2016 professional schedule currently features nine-events throughout the United States and Canada. The season will kick off in March and conclude in September.

The IHRA Drag Racing Series remains comprised of traditional stops along with the addition of two new markets. Highlighting the 2016 schedule will be powerhouse stops in: San Antonio, Texas; Grand Bend, Ontario; Edmonton, Alberta and Martin, Michigan. Also returning to the schedule is Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Cordova, Illinois and Budds Creek, Maryland.

The season will get underway March 5 - 6 at Orlando Speed World Dragway in Orlando, Florida and conclude at Dragway 42 in West Salem, Ohio. Both of these venues are new stops on the IHRA professional tour.

Memphis International Raceway hosted the Summit SuperSeries champions from each of the six IHRA divisions. These regional champions competed for true world champion status among bracket racers on October 9-11, 2015.

The biggest weekend this year for Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am competitors came to a close on Sunday, October 11th, 2015. The top three divisional champions in each of the Stock, Super Stock, Hot Rod, Super Rod, Quick Rod Good Vibrations Top Sportsman and Good Vibrations Top Dragster converged on Memphis International Raceway for a world champion shootout.

The IHRA Summit World Champions for 2015 are Donny Urban (Good Vibrations Top Sportsman), Nick Womack (Good Vibrations Top Dragster), Jimmy Hidalgo Jr (Super Stock), Michelle Martel (Stock), Vernon Rowland (Quick Rod), Doug Lynden (Super Rod), Patrick Forster (Hot Rod) and Kassie Thomas (Junior Dragster).
