STEELE, Ala. — Alabama International Dragway hosted the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Sportsman Spectacular last Saturday with Joseph Newberry, Tucker Kay and Grace Varner taking the win in their respective classes.

It featured a big payday of $5,000 to the Top (Box) winner, Newberry, and all three racers qualified for the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals, which will also be held at Alabama International Dragway.

The entry list is stacked for the IHRA Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals at Darana Dragway - Milan. From fan favorites to proven champions, the stage is set for a weekend of big horsepower and even bigger matchups, all aiming for a spot in the winner’s circle.

HOLLY SPRINGS, MS — The Varner family had plenty to celebrate at last weekend’s IHRA Sportsman Spectacular event at Holly Springs Motorsports.

Derek Varner, the father, scored the win in Mod (No Box) with Blake Sanders, a frequent contender at Holly Springs, taking the runner-up honors. In the Junior Dragster final, Josiah Varner got the best of brother John Varner to take the victory.

The IHRA Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals are rolling into Darana Dragway - Milan (formerly Milan Dragway) Friday, August 8, and Saturday, August 9, and with $125,000-to-win, some of the baddest Pro Mods in the country entered, it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest Pro Mod events of the year.

Names like Frankie “Mad Man” Taylor, Kye Kelley, Ken Quartuccio, Robin Roberts, Wes Distefano, Kallee Mills and Craig Sullivan are all locked in and ready to throw down for a massive $125,000 payday.

Teams for each of the IHRA Summit Team Finals are chosen by the IHRA-member tracks. This year, the IHRA membership deadline of July 1 has been waived, but you are highly encouraged to get your membership in before the division finals.

SALEM, Ohio — Quaker City Motorsports Park is set to host the “Big Buck Nationals” on August 8-10. There is a $5,000-to-win, 64-car Shootout scheduled for Friday, Aug. 8. There are 32 No Box cars and 32 Box cars, which will run separately until the final round.

The races were live streamed on IHRA.TV with the exciting action of both the Nitro and Sportsman classes.

MILAN, Mich. — It was worth the wait for Lex Joon and Del Worsham on Sunday at Darana Dragway - Milan.

With the elimination rounds in the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series postponed from Saturday due to rainy weather, Joon and Worsham won the Top Fuel and Funny Car races. The prestigious Ironman trophies and $50,000 winner’s purses respectively came with that, and the races were live streamed on IHRA.TV.

MILAN, Mich. — The IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series eliminations at Darana Dragway - Milan were postponed Saturday due to weather. They will resume Sunday morning with Hot Rod at 9:30 a.m. with live streaming on IHRA.TV.
