After an in-depth review of the timing system situation that occurred at the Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL event at Mooresville Dragway earlier this month, the IHRA has decided to re-run the race from the beginning at Farmington Dragway during Farmington's originally scheduled Summit Pro-Am Tour date the weekend of August 8-10.

In anticipation of the thrilling return of the Summer Nationals to Cordova after a 12 year absence, the International Hot Rod Association and Cordova Dragway Park held a joint press conference alongside other major sports announcements in the area at the iWireless Center in Moline, Ill. on Thursday.

CORDOVA, Ill. – The International Hot Rod Association’s (IHRA) Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series returns to Cordova Dragway Park in Cordova, Illinois the weekend of July 18-19 for the IHRA Nitro Jam Summer Nationals.

With just four weekends remaining in the 2014 IHRA Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL season, the action is really beginning to heat up highlighted by an intense three days of racing over the weekend as the best-of-the-best were out in full force in Pennsylvania, Texas and British Columbia.

If there is one race and one race only that you can attend in 2014, this is it.

The 2014 IHRA Summer Nationals at Cordova Dragway Park will feature the largest field of Nitro Funny Car and Pro Stock teams seen all season, in addition to a stout lineup of Nitro Harley, Nitro Altered and Jet Dragster competitors. But in truth, there is only one thing on the minds of many heading into this historical event – the Clash at Cordova.

For six exciting years in the late 90s and early 2000s, Cordova Dragway Park was on top of the IHRA world.

Hosting the annual Summer Nationals with the International Hot Rod Association’s professional drag racing series from 1997-2002, the world-class facility, famous for its incredible fan and racer hospitality and blazing fast track, produced one of the premier, must-see events on the IHRA schedule.

The International Hot Rod Association™ (IHRA) and IRG Sports + Entertainment™ are excited to announce that Spokane County Raceway, located in Airway Heights, Washington just outside of Spokane, has become IHRA’s newest member track and IHRA’s first on the West Coast, effective 2015.

With the announcement that Spokane County Raceway (SCR) has joined the International Hot Rod Association™ (IHRA) beginning in 2015, the IHRA and SCR want to assure all racers and participants that the transition to a new sanctioning body will be seamless.

After trading the top spot in Nitro Funny Car numerous times throughout the weekend, Tim Nemeth capped off a wild weekend in the nitro-powered Funny Car category at the IHRA Mopar Rocky Mountain Nationals with a thrilling victory over Tim Boychuk to lead the way at IHRA’s biggest event of the season.
