The International Hot Rod Association™ (IHRA) and Mopar are excited to announce that drag racing legend and 17-time world champion “Big Daddy” Don Garlits has been named Grand Marshal for the upcoming IHRA Mopar Nitro Jam Nationals set for June 20-22 at the Grand Bend Motorplex in Ontario, Canada.

The 2014 IHRA Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL Division 1 season continues this weekend at Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek, Maryland for a Nitro Jam/Pro-Am doubleheader weekend. The weekend will feature two complete races with the Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series and Summit Pro-Am Tour. Racing for the Summit Pro-Am Tour will get underway on Friday with a test and tune followed by two separate races Saturday and Sunday.

The 2014 IHRA Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL season continues this weekend June 13-15 at Memphis International Raceway in Memphis, Tennessee with a Wild Card weekend. The weekend will feature two complete races. Racing action will get underway on Friday with a test and tune followed by two complete races Saturday and Sunday. All drivers, regardless of division, can earn an in-division claim at the event meaning major championship implications – and Tournament of Champions seeding – is on the line.

The Goforth Racing Team, currently first and third in the IHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock standings with the International Hot Rod Association’s Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series, announced this week that it will be expanding to a three-car operation beginning with next weekend’s IHRA Nitro Jam President’s Cup Nationals at Maryland International Raceway.

IHRA sportsman racers enjoyed two events big events over the weekend on the Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL as the Division 3 season kicked off in Kentucky at London Dragway and Division 4 continued with its second event of the season at San Antonio Raceway in Texas.

Through the first five months of 2014 we have witnessed world records shattered, new rivalries blossom and some incredible racing at all levels of the International Hot Rod Association™ (IHRA), which only leaves one question – what will the next five months hold?
