The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) is gearing up for a huge weekend of sportsman action the weekend of July 11-13 with racing action from Pennsylvania to British Columbia and down through Texas and North Carolina.

Defending Rocky Mountain Nationals Nitro Funny Car champion Tim Nemeth opened up the 2014 edition of IHRA’s biggest race with another chart-topping pass, making a strong case for a repeat at the IHRA Mopar Rocky Mountain Nationals presented by Good Vibrations Motorsports and Parts Canada Friday at Castrol Raceway.

What makes the IHRA’s Mopar Rocky Mountain Nationals the biggest event on the schedule?

With the recent announcement made by the ownership group at GALOT Motorsports Park that the facility will not open in 2014, the International Hot Rod Association has rescheduled the Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL event that was originally scheduled to take place at the track in September.

Darlington Dragway will host the inaugural Kids Racing For Kids Junior Nationals presented by D.R.A.F. the weekend of October 17-19.

The 2014 IHRA Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL Division 6 season will get underway at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta for a Nitro Jam/Pro-Am doubleheader weekend. The weekend will feature two complete races with the Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series and Summit Pro-Am Tour. Racing for the Summit Pro-Am Tour will get underway on Friday with a test and tune followed by two separate races Saturday and Sunday.

EDMONTON, Alberta – The International Hot Rod Association’s (IHRA) Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series returns to Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta the weekend of July 4-6 for the IHRA Mopar Nitro Jam Rocky Mountain Nationals presented by Good Vibrations Motorsports and Parts Canada.

Just one week ago at the IHRA Nitro Jam national event in Budds Creek, Maryland, Nitro Funny Car competitor Jason Rupert found himself packing his bags and heading home early, having just failed to qualify for the event.

On Sunday in Grand Bend, Rupert put that poor performance behind him and returned to form in a major way, dominating the class he has led all season long in claiming his fourth Ironman of 2014 at the IHRA Mopar Nitro Jam Nationals at the Grand Bend Motorplex.
